3-Feathers Catering, Event Planners & Corporate Services continues to build on its commitment to a local sustainable food system and economy. When possible 3-Feathers catering purchases organic and locally grown food directly from local farmers and designs menus based on the seasons' local bounty. Demand is increasing for natural and hormone free meats; organic vegetables, flours, and sugar; free-range eggs, and a host of "Fair Trade Certified" and green products. Every party where 3-Feathers catering provides real plates, cutlery, and glassware significantly reduces the amount of waste headed for a landfill. When an event calls for disposable items, 3-Feathers Catering can provide fully biodegradable or compostable paper goods. We also use recycled garbage bags, recycled and unbleached napkins and phosphate-free dish soap. We are working from within the national and global food system to support a local and sustainable food system and economy. We request that our distributors buy from local producers and from socially and environmentally responsible producers. We select products and services meeting standards that are as "green" as possible. Although we rely on the local, national, and global food systems to meet the needs of a diverse group of clients, we are a source of pressure for an increasingly more local, sustainable and socially responsible food system.
